Flames engulfed a family home in Chester Monday.

The blaze broke out in the afternoon at 11 Overlook Trail. Fire officials say a dozen departments responded, but the architecture of the house and where it?s situated made extinguishing the blaze difficult. The owner of the home was present at the time of the fire but was able to get out safely.

The fire chief says the blaze may have started in shrubbery outside the home, but officials are still investigating. The Red Cross is finding lodging for this now homeless family of four.
