Drew Thorpe, a former pitcher for the Hudson Valley Renegades, has been awarded the title of Minor League Pitching Prospect of the Year.
The honor was announced during Major League Baseball's inaugural Minor League Baseball Awards Show.
In his first professional season, the 23-year-old right-hander led all minor league pitchers in strikeouts.
Thorpe commenced the year with the Yankee’s High-A Hudson Valley team and later earned a promotion to AA Somerset Patriots.
