Seven former residents of now-closed residential treatment centers in Hawthorne have filed a lawsuit over claims of child sexual abuse.
The suit targets the Hawthorne Cedar Knolls School District and the Jewish Board of Family and Children's Services, which administered the campus.
The plaintiffs lived at either Hawthorne Cedar Knolls or Linden Hill Residential Treatment Centers.
A release from Levy-Konigsberg law firm states the seven residents suffered trauma from childhood sexual abuse.
It claims the centers, meant to protect vulnerable children, allowed abuse to fester.
News 12 reached out to the Jewish Board for comment but has not received a response.
