Family and friends are remembering Jared Lloyd, the volunteer firefighter who was killed in a Spring Valley blaze back in March.
Six people are now facing charges in connection to the fire that claimed the life of Lloyd and a resident of Evergreen Assisted Living Home on March 23, 2021.
Lloyd’s dad and fellow firefighters were too emotional to comment on the arrests, but his godfather and a coworker at Optimum spoke to News 12.
“Thank god and everyone that’s involved, so that everything can be solved, and I guess we can go on with our lives," said Carl Jager, Lloyd's godfather.
Christian Valescot, a co-worker with Lloyd at Optimum said, “It does feel good that there are people being held accountable for this. I mean it doesn’t bring him back…it’s still a good friend, a father of two that is no longer with his children.”
All of Lloyd’s loved ones hope the arrests will give them some closure and give Lloyd some justice.
