Family and friends gathered Tuesday for the funeral of the White Plains woman killed inside a Galleria Mall garage.
Those who knew 56-year-old Connie Russo Carriero say she was a loving wife, mother and a dear friend. Friend Karen Sposato remebers Connie never staying after meetings to mingle but always went home to her two boys.
Police say Carriero was killed by level 3 sex offender Phillip Grant. He was charged with second-degree murder and weapon possession in the knife attack. If convicted, he could be sentenced to up to 25 years to life in prison. Police say the incident was a random act and Grant was just looking for a white woman to kill.
