A gang member has pleaded guilty to manslaughter in connection with the June 2020 shooting death of 16-year-old Frederick Wells, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York.
Elijah Bermudez admitted to shooting Wells, who was an innocent bystander, during a dispute between other gang members near Charles Street in Poughkeepsie.
Bermudez faces a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison when he is sentenced in October.
