OVERNIGHT: Cloudy and chilly with passing showers ahead of big changes once more on Monday.
MONDAY: Foggy and cloudy start. Pretty mild as a warm front in the morning raises temperatures quickly. Early afternoon, it will be warm with peeks of sunshine ahead of the approaching storm system expected to impact the boroughs by the evening commute.
STORM WATCH: Light rain starts first, then moderate to heavy rainfall with gusty winds associated with thunderstorms around 5-6 p.m. The evening commute will be a soaker and anything but smooth. Expect treacherous travel conditions during the evening hours. Wind gusts could reach up to 55 MPH as the storms move through.
The track of the system appears to be slightly south enough to where rainfall totals will be less in the Bronx than in Brooklyn by a stark comparison. Near half of an inch in the Bronx, with 1-2" in Brooklyn is possible. The flash flooding risk is low but still will be a concern for isolated areas, especially in Brooklyn.
REST OF THE WEEK: Cooler air and drier for Tuesday and Wednesday to start April. Our next rain chance will be on Thursday and into the weekend.
