The Savannah Bananas turned Yankee Stadium into a full-on spectacle — drawing thousands of fans for a night that looked nothing like traditional baseball.

With the Bronx Bombers on the road, the stadium was still packed — but this time for dancing umpires, trick plays and nonstop entertainment known as “Banana Ball.”

The fast-paced version of the game is designed to keep fans engaged from start to finish — capped at just two hours, no more, no less. And for many in the crowd, that’s exactly what makes it appealing.

“Some people don’t find baseball that interesting — this is for those people,” one spectator explained.

But not everyone in the Bronx crowd was rooting for Savannah. Their rivals, the Party Animals, also drew plenty of support.

“Go to Party Animals!” Dom shouted.

Even with the game rescheduled a day earlier than planned, the turnout didn’t suffer. Fans traveled from across the country to be part of the Banana Ball World Tour — including one family from Wyoming.

“We flew from our small town in Wyoming,” one woman said. “We saw them in Denver last year and loved it so much we had to come back and see them again.”

For many, seeing Yankee Stadium filled with fans again — even for a non-traditional game — was part of the experience.

And with rain in the forecast, fans made it clear they weren’t letting a little rotten weather spoil the fun.
