Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced new guidelines for summer camps and day care facilities.
Cuomo says the guidelines include collecting vaccination status for campers and staff, requiring mandatory daily health checks, and notifying the state immediately if there's a positive COVID-19 case.
It also address hygiene issues and personal protection equipment supplies.
Mark Transport, owner of Crestwood Camp School in Melville and former president of the Long Island Camps and Private Schools Association, says campers won't have to wear masks during camp activities such as basketball, swimming and soccer.
The governor also says social distance when needed especially when it comes to unvaccinated staffers.
Transport says Crestwood mandates that workers are vaccinated. The only exemptions are medical and religious.
Unvaccinated staff members at Crestwood must wear masks indoors or when they're closer than 6 feet to the campers.
