Coronavirus cases in New York have jumped to 142, Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced at a press conference Monday morning.

That includes 98 cases in Westchester County and 18 on Long Island. There are 19 cases in New York City and four in Rockland County.

The governor reiterated that vulnerable populations remain the chief concern, including the elderly and those with compromised immune systems.

He said that the state will roll out a policy for schools that if a student tests positive, their school will be closed for an initial 24-hour period so officials can do an assessment of the situation and make a determination going forward.

He said that New Rochelle in Westchester County remains a "hot spot" for coronavirus cases, and said that schools there could be closed for a "number of weeks," due to concerns of community-spread cases.

The governor said that Port Authority Director Rick Cotton has tested positive for the virus, and is now working from home on quarantine. He said other senior Port Authority staffers will also be working from home.

Cuomo also said that the state would be producing its own "New York State Clean" hand sanitizer, in an effort to combat shortages and price gouging. It will be provided to schools, he said.
