On Thursday, Gov. Kathy Hochul joined officials at the county's Department of Public Safety's headquarters in Valhalla to discuss what the more than $11.4 million investment will mean.
She says the money will be doled out between more than 30 Westchester County law enforcement agencies to "modernize law enforcement technology and equipment."
"We don't defund the police; we fund the police. We give them the tools they need, the best technology, and also the coordination between our agencies, where the state government is a great facilitator to coordinator to work with our county, to then work with our locality," said Gov. Hochul.
Officials attribute an 18% reduction in crime, statewide, to record level investments in law enforcement.
