(AP) - Gov. David Paterson's press secretary isresigning, making her the fourth top staffer to resign amidscandals that threaten the administration. Press Secretary Marissa Shorenstein says she is resigningbecause her reported role in a recent scandal makes her unable todo her job effectively. She says it's been a privilege to work forPaterson. The New York Times had reported Shorenstein at Paterson'sdirection contacted a woman who had accused a trusted Paterson aideof domestic violence. The woman soon after dropped her claim. Shorenstein says she has always performed her duties withintegrity, basing her actions "on what I believed to be true atthe time." Paterson's communications director, deputy secretary for publicsafety and state police superintendent have also resigned.
