Green Haven Correctional Facility in Stormville has officially lifted a lockdown that was initiated last week in response to escalating violence within the facility.
Officials discovered a significant amount of contraband during the lockdown, including 76 weapons, suspected narcotics in 21 instances, 13 incidents involving homemade alcohol, and the recovery of a cellphone.
There were also reported assaults on staff members, totaling 15 incidents.
The lockdown was implemented to address security concerns and ensure the safety of both inmates and staff at the facility.
