A groundbreaking ceremony held on Wednesday kicked off phase one of redevelopments at Ridge Hill in Yonkers.
The gathering area at Town Square and Park Plaza on the north end of the property is slated for transformation in this phase.
North American Properties is leading the redevelopment project. It is one of the companies that acquired Ridge Hill a few years ago.
Kevin Polston, a project executive, said phase one should be finished by the fall, right before the holidays. He said the redevelopments will cost around $15 million.
It's a venture that Polston said his company couldn't pass up.
"We feel like there was an opportunity of a lack of attention being paid by the prior ownership when this project came on the market in 2021 for us to come in and reinvest and to curate an experience that would bring the community back to the project," Polston said.
