The Nanuet Rotary Club has arranged for a 2-year-old Bolivian boy to undergo life-saving heart surgery Wednesday.
The toddler, named Justin, has a hole in his heart. Since the blood is unable to flow properly, the boy gets tired easily and his growth has been stunted.
Justin?s father, Marco, says he never would have been able to afford the procedure. The club raised $6,000 and is being aided by the international outreach organization, The Gift of Life.
Rotary club member George PeJoves says helping the boy is ?just the right thing to do.? The surgery will be an all-day procedure and will require a five-day stay at the hospital.
