Community members in Harrison stepped up to help the victims of Hurricane Helene on Sunday.
The dropped off donations for the victims at the Harrison Fire Department.
The drive was organized by Officer Joe Parrello, the police department and the fire department.
Organizers said they were looking for essential items including medical supplies, food, baby formula and clothes.
"We know we're so far away, but we know the community is strong and that they would rally around behind us and send down as much stuff as possible," said AJ Fusco, a firefighter.
The collection started at 8 a.m. and is scheduled to run through 6 p.m.
