Pet Rescue in Harrison hosted an animal meet and greet on Saturday.
The nonprofit organization was founded in 1982 with the aim of providing aid, medical care and finding homes for homeless and abused animals.
Managers say since the organization’s founding, they have rescued over 15,000 animals.
"If you adopt a dog, you're saving another dog or cat – because now we have room to take in more animals. You may never know who you are saving…adopt, don't shop,” said volunteer Paula Krenkel.
