Head-on Newburgh crash sends 2 to hospitals
Two people were rushed to hospitals after a head-on collision in Orange County on Monday.
Police say the accident happened on Rock Cut Road in the town of Newburgh, about a half mile north of Route 52.
Witnesses says an Audi and a Toyota crashed into each other. "I was in my backyard and the next thing I hear is “boom.” I heard two men screaming to the top of their lungs and they were entrapped in their cars.  And one guy had his wrist pretty severed. I brought some towels from the house and got him stable. We went over to the other one.  He was passing out.  We kept him awake and kept him alert but it was very nasty," says Ron Pucino, of Newburgh.
One driver was flown to Westchester Medical Center while the other was taken to Saint Luke's Hospital in Newburgh.  Their conditions are not known at this time.
