A Dutchess County woman is dead after a two-vehicle crash in the hamlet of Wingdale. Authorities say it happened on State Route 55 near Deuel Hollow Road Monday morning. Police say 80-year-old Valerie Parsons, of Wingdale, was entering Route 55 from a private driveway when she was struck by a truck. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
One person is recovering after being trapped underneath a tractor-trailer in Dutchess County. The Millerton Fire Company says the tractor-trailer rolled over into a stream - pinning the victim. Roughly 70 first responders from several local departments arrived at the scene to assist. The victim was placed on a helicopter and brought to the hospital for treatment. The Dutchess County Sheriff's Office is investigating the incident.
