Here are some of the local stories making headlines on this Wednesday.
Police say 23-year-old Andrew Lamb, of Mamaroneck, was arrested and is facing hate crime charges in connection to the vandalism of a Black Lives Matter mural. He is due back in court at a later date.
A man is in critical condition following an attack inside his home in the Town of Wallkill. Police say the 24-year-old was sleeping in his Sandburg Court home and woke up to four people hitting him in the head and body with a gun. They got away with the victim's gold chain with a cross pendant.
A Queens man who police say expressed support for the deadly 2019 machete attack at a rabbi's Monsey home has been sentenced to prison. Joseph Miner, 31, will spend five years behind bars for purchasing an illegal gun in 2020.
Supporters of retired Miami-Dade police officer Eric Reynolds will gather this weekend in Fishkill. He says staff at Rondout Valley campground in Ulster County told him to remove his thin blue line flag or leave. Supporters of Reynolds will meet at the Dutchess mall on Saturday for a "Back the Blue Caravan" that will start at 10 a.m.
