A Queens man has been arrested in connection with providing prostitutes to 383 clients in Brewster. According to the complaint, Teodoro Rojas Lopez set up the meetings through text and WhatsApp messages. Lopez, who was also arrested in 2018 with two women in his car in Carmel, admitted to police he took them to 12 separate "appointments" that day. He is charged with using a cellphone to promote prostitution.
Police say they have arrested a man in connection with a home invasion in Montrose. They say Darius McCallop, 32, entered the home at 3 a.m. on Thursday. The victims woke up and called police who say they were able to track the Cortlandt man's foot prints in the snow. During his arrest, they say he also had a stolen wallet with about $780 in cash.
Community members in two counties are rallying
behind an Orange County animal control officer who lost her home and two cats
during a devastating house fire. Nearly $4,000 has been raised to help longtime Town of
Montgomery Animal Control Officer Ann Ilkiw. She lost her home and pets during the fire on
Strawtown Road in New City Wednesday. The Montgomery PBA started the GoFundMe page to help.
