A Bedford man is facing charges following a crash that resulted in injuries to his brother. According to detectives, 24-year-old Marcus Vamosy was speeding north on Bedford Road last September when his car collided with a van, then a utility pole, before coming to rest in the parking lot of an auto parts store. The impact caused his 24-year-old brother to be thrown from the vehicle, resulting in a serious head injury. Marcus has been charged with reckless endangerment.
A Piermont man has been arrested on charges of sexually abusing a young child. Village police reported that John Dillon was taken into custody last Thursday for allegedly committing acts of sexual abuse against a child under the age of 11. The abuse is said to have occurred on multiple occasions. Dillon was arraigned and released on five thousand dollars bail. He is scheduled to appear in court on April 17.
A suspect has been charged in connection with a break-in and attempted robbery at a business in North White Plains. According to police, the suspect forcibly entered the complex located at 670 North Broadway by breaking through a window early Sunday morning. However, their attempt to steal was thwarted by a burglar alarm, prompting them to try and flee through the back. Police advise residents to ensure their alarm systems are in proper working condition.
