Here are some stories making headlines across the Hudson Valley.
A Town of Wallkill resident is now facing charges for a deadly wrong way crash. Police say Faith Illenberg, 56, is charged with criminally negligent homicide for her alleged role in last April's crash. Town police say Illenberg was driving east on Route 211 but hit a car heading westbound head-on. The driver of that car died three days later. Illenberg will be back in court next month.
A Kingston man has been arrested for a domestic dispute. Ulster police say they went to a home on Lawrenceville Street in the Town of Ulster and found 26-year-old Davonte Jones had hit a woman and tried to choke her. Police say she was left with some minor injuries. Investigators also say Jones grabbed the victim's cellphone to try to keep her from calling 911. He already made his first court appearance and was released until his next appearance. The victim has an order of protection against him.
A Wappingers Falls man has been arrested for sexually abusing a victim under the age of 11, according to state police. Authorities say Marc H. Santoro, 54, has been charged with sexual abuse in the first degree, a class D felony, and endangering the welfare of a child, a class A misdemeanor. After receiving a law enforcement tip, investigators say they determined Santoro sexually abused a victim under the age of 11. Santoro was arraigned before the village of Wappinger Falls Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $15,000 bail, $30,000 bond, or $60,000 partially secure bond. He is scheduled to be back in court on March 20.
