Police are awaiting dental records before releasing the name of an Iona Prep student killed in a car crash Friday at the entrance to the Golden Horseshoe Shopping Center. The car was engulfed in flames by the time police arrived, and the cause of death was determined to be blunt force trauma and smoke inhalation.
A Bronx man is facing serious charges after being caught stealing mail from multiple locations in the village of Mamaroneck. Village police said three men were seen trying to take letters from a mailbox at the village post office on Friday. When police arrived, the vehicle fled the scene. Two days later, police spotted the same vehicle and attempted to stop it. The vehicle then struck a police vehicle while attempting to drive away.
Suffern police are asking for the public's help in identifying a man who attempted to enter a car. A 911 caller reported a suspicious incident in which the man attempted to get into their car. The caller yelled at the man, who reportedly apologized and walked away. Anyone with information is asked to call Suffern police at 845-357-2300.
