Here are some stories making headlines
across the Hudson Valley.
A car struck a utility pole in Ramapo
before catching fire Sunday night. Ramapo police and Tallman fire departments were on the scene in the area of Airmont
Road at the New York State Thruway overpass. The area had to be closed for
several hours overnight, but the roadway and the entrance ramp to the
Thruway are open again. The accident also caused a large portion in the
Montebello section of Ramapo to lose power.
A
Newburgh family's Easter holiday was ruined by a fire that gutted their home. Firefighters were called to 115 Meadow Hill Road around
12:30 a.m. on Sunday and were met with flames shooting from the roof. The cause of the fire is still under
investigation.
Authorities
have issued a warning for anyone living in Mamaroneck to be on the
lookout for burglars posing as utility workers. On the PBA
Facebook page, one resident says someone came to their home urging them to
check their water meter. The resident let the person
in, but attempted to call police once she says she felt
something was off. That's when she says that person, who posed as a utility
worker, fled. Police say if you have any
information regarding a similar situation contact their department at (917) 777-7780.
