A Mount Kisco resident has pleaded guilty to the deadly stabbing of a housemate. Oscar Morales stabbed 36-year-old David Lemus last June, according to the Westchester County D.A's office. Lemus died a month later. Morales claimed the incident stemmed from a fight that began after Lemus hit him. Morales said he stabbed Lemus to protect himself. He pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter and is scheduled to receive 18 years in prison when he is sentenced next month.
A person is facing charges for using stolen credit cards at gas stations and delis in Carmel. Employees at the 'Route 6 Deli' in Mahopac called police after several people used the cards to buy cigarettes. Detectives found the suspects when they attempted to do it again at another gas station. The suspects ran, but detectives were able to catch Lydon Peters. He's charged with felony criminal possession of stolen property and driving without a proper license.
Police are searching for a suspect who cut a woman's ear. Close to midnight on Sunday, they responded to Grant Street in the City of Poughkeepsie, where they found a woman going in and out of consciousness with an ear laceration. The suspect ran away just before they arrived. Anyone with information is asked to call the tip line at (845) 451-7577.
