Police in Dutchess County say a man was shot inside his home in Hyde Park Thursday.
Officials say it happened around 1 a.m. on Rockledge Road.
The man was found with an apparent head wound.
No suspects have been identified in the case.
Investigators say the incident does not appear to be random.
The Putnam County Society for the Protection of Cruelty to Animals is looking for the person who shot a cat in the neck.
The stray cat was found in Mahopac near Lakeside Road around two weeks ago.
Veterinarians say they found a small caliber bullet in the feline’s flesh that healed over without scabbing.
They were able to remove it.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Humane Law Enforcement.
Mets Acting General Manager Zack Scott was arrested for drinking and driving in White Plains.
Scott was arraigned Thursday after police say he was sleeping and intoxicated in his car early Tuesday.
The Mets have placed him on administrative leave until further notice.
He will be back in court in October.
