Here are some stories making headlines today in the Hudson Valley.
Burglars robbed a jewelry store in Hartsdale this past weekend. Police in Greenburgh say the robbers broke into Tarrytown Jewelers early Sunday. They say they discovered an opening cut in the roof of an adjacent nail salon. The suspects then lowered themselves into the salon and cut several openings into the wall of the jewelry store
A former Haverstraw deputy mayor is now facing grand larceny charges. Emily Dominguez, who stepped down from her position last month, is accused of stealing more than $11,000 in funds and donations from the Rockland Community Foundation nonprofit organization. Police say Dominguez was aided by her sister and mother. All three will be back in court later this month.
Police are still searching for a gunman after a local taxi driver was fatally shot in Newburgh last Thursday. The victim has been identified as 51-year-old Jorge Arbayza De La Cruz.
