Here are some stories making headlines across the Hudson Valley.
Police say a Bronx man stole a Mount Sinai ambulance from a New York City hospital and then led officers on a chase in Westchester. They say 47-year-old Matthew Chacko stole the emergency vehicle around 5 a.m. Thursday.
Troopers spotted the ambulance traveling northbound in Tarrytown and attempted a traffic stop. Authorities say Chacko failed to comply. After a slow-speed pursuit, the police used a tire deflation device to stop the ambulance on the Gov. Mario M. Cuomo Bridge. Chacko faces multiple felonies, including grand larceny and criminal possession of stolen property.
Clarkstown police say they are investigating a series of catalytic converter thefts. Police confirmed there have been five incidents this week in the areas of New City and Nanuet. Police believe the suspects are using stolen vehicles or license plates. Authorities recommend to residents to park their cars in well-lit locations and secured areas like a garage and use security lights and cameras.
A New Jersey man faces charges for allegedly selling drugs in Middletown. Middletown police say they found cocaine, fentanyl, a loaded and defaced handgun, ammo and more than $23,000 in cash while executing a search warrant on Idris Sutton's home. Sutton is charged with criminal sale and possession of a controlled substance - and several other charges.
