Here are some stories making headlines across the Hudson Valley today.
A Mount Vernon man could face decades behind bars for a deadly shooting. The Westchester DA's office says 22-year-old Johnathan Jeanty pled guilty to manslaughter. Jeanty is accused of shooting and killing 24-year-old Tremell Robinson, of Yonkers, in April of 2020. Police say the two met up to fight in Mount Vernon.
Commuters in Clarkstown were forced to take a detour after a backhoe caught fire on Monday along Old Mill Road. Clarkstown police say the road was closed for about 45 minutes.
Nearly a dozen people are recovering today after a chemical mix-up at the YMCA in New Rochelle. Officials say a maintenance work accidently put hydrochloric acid in the pool instead of chlorine. News 12 is told 11 people were taken to the hospital with respiratory injuries. In a statement on their website, officials say the building will remain closed at least through today.
