Here are some stories making headlines across the Hudson Valley.
A Middletown man is set to learn his fate today in a murder-for-hire case. Damante Stansberry is accused of fatally stabbing Jeffrey Harris, 52, of Wallkill last October. Prosecutors say Stansberry was allegedly hired by Harris' neighbor, Enoch Lowe, to kill Harris. Lowe and Harris had a long-lasting feud. Stansberry is facing up to 20 years in prison.
A Barryville man has been sentenced to 4 years in prison in an overdose death. The Orange County D.A. says Ralph Mann sold fentanyl to a man in Port Jervis in May. That man was later found dead. Mann admitted to police to selling the drugs to the victim.
A man is behind bars this morning for shooting his ex-girlfriend in Sleepy Hollow. The Westchester DA's office says Ruben Santiago faces charges including attempted murder and attempted assault. Police say Santiago forcibly entered the home of the woman and shot her with a 38-caliber revolver. She was treated at an area hospital for gunshot wounds on her neck and hand. Santiago is being held in Westchester County Jail.
