Here are some stories making headlines across the Hudson Valley.
A New Rochelle man has been charged in a shooting. Police say Richard Faulkner, 35, fired at an unidentified 20-year-old man on Colonel Lee Archer Boulevard around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday. The victim walked into Jacobi Hospital in the Bronx and told NYPD he had been shot in New Rochelle. Faulkner was charged with assault, criminal possession of a weapon and reckless endangerment. A .380-caliber handgun was recovered from his residence.
The body of a man was found at Spring Valley's Memorial Park Thursday morning. Spring Valley police says they were called to a parking lot at the park just before 4 a.m. Police tell News 12 they were receiving multiple 911 calls about the body before arriving.
When they arrived, they say a bystander was trying to perform CPR. Patrols also administered CPR but were unsuccessful. The autopsy by the medical examiner's office is now complete, however, the cause of death results won’t be in for a couple of weeks.
Pilar Dominguez-Leon, 45, of Yonkers has pleaded guilty to second degree vehicular manslaughter, according to the Westchester District Attorney's Office. He was accused of running over 23-year-old Juliana Scott at Chicken Island Daylighting Park. Investigators say he was driving drunk and lost control of his car. He is expected to receive a prison sentence of 1 to 3 years when he is sentenced in October.
