News 12 has just learned that no charges will be filed in the death of beloved Newburgh paramedic Lisa Sillins. Orange County District Attorney Dave Hoovler says the investigation and toxicology report found the driver, Pablo Colector, was not intoxicated when he struck Sillins, who was walking across Robinson Avenue after a shift at night in the city of Newburgh, with his truck in December. Hoovler said his office's findings do not support initial reports by responding officers that Colector smelled of alcohol and failed a field sobriety test. Sillins' death is being ruled an accident.

A three-hour armed standoff ended peacefully at a Poughkeepsie home on Wednesday. It started when a deputy from the Dutchess County Sheriff's office went to 21 Pleasant View Road to serve an eviction warrant. Police say 28-year-old Shawn Magliocchino took out a shotgun and wouldn't cooperate. Emergency services and hostage negotiators were called to the scene. Magliocchino ultimately surrendered and is charged with a felony of menacing a police or peace officer.

A 28-year-old man is facing a number of charges after police say they caught him trying to steal people's belongings out of their cars while they were in church. Police say it happened at Gracepoint Gospel Fellowship Church in New City. It happened Sunday, but it wasn't the first time. Ramapo police say congregants recently reported items were stolen out of their cars while attending services. On Sunday, officers in plainclothes went to the church to keep watch. The suspect, who police recognized from prior incidents, was seen trying to open people's cars right in front of the officers. Police say the suspect fled on foot but he was caught by Clarkstown police. He's now facing charges of petit larceny and obstructing governmental administration.
