Here are some stories making headlines across the Hudson Valley.
A Yonkers police officer is recovering after his vehicle was hit by another car on Wednesday. Police say it happened around 7:30 a.m. on the corner of McLean and Aqueduct avenues. They say the officer was in an ESU vehicle, with lights and sirens on, when it was T-boned by another car. That driver was not hurt. No charges have been filed.
A guilty verdict has been rendered in a nearly 5-year-old murder. Cynell Brown could spend life behind bars after a jury found him guilty of second-degree murder in the 2018 shooting of a Tarrytown mother. Jessica Wiltse, 34, was found in her apartment in the Sleepy Hollow Gardens Complex back in February of 2018. Brown will be sentenced in January.
A mother of four is dead after a hit-and-run incident in Goshen. Authorities say Ada Ruiz was hit by a vehicle driven by Wanda Morales while walking on Route 17-M over the weekend. They say Morales failed to stop and Ruiz was found on the side of the road. Morales was later arrested by state police and released on an appearance ticket according to the Orange County DA's office.
