- Police have now identified the North Carolina teen killed in the Yonkers shooting over the weekend. Officials say 18-year-old Guy Vanlew, of Raleigh, was shot Saturday right across from School 23. No arrests have been made. If anyone has any information, they should contact Yonkers police. This is the second fatal shooting in the last month to happen in Westchester's largest city.
- Two people were rescued from the Ten Mile River in Dutchess County on Sunday afternoon. Officials received a call Sunday about a man and woman stuck in the river clinging onto a log. The two had been tubing when things went wrong. The Dutchess County Sheriff's Office reminds everyone to avoid rivers, streams, and creeks after rainstorms because of the increased water levels and stronger currents.
- Members of the White House Environmental Justice Advisory Council toured Mount Vernon Monday to get a firsthand look at the crumbling infrastructure. Mount Vernon officials estimate it will cost $200 million to replace the area’s entire sewer system. The city is facing fines from both the federal and state governments if the issues are not resolved.
