A brother and sister from Hillcrest are currently facing charges related to check fraud. Ramapo police report that the 20-year-old woman and her 19-year-old brother were apprehended while attempting to cash a stolen check allegedly taken from a local business's mailbox. After their arrest, the pair was released and given a court date scheduled for later this month. Police are emphasizing the importance of not leaving important mail unattended in mailboxes for any period of time.
Richard Bailey, of Yonkers, is now facing charges after being allegedly caught with over 6 grams of crack cocaine during a routine traffic stop conducted by state police last week. Bailey, who was pulled over in Mount Vernon, is now confronting several charges, including criminal possession with intent to sell.
Erick Santander, a level three sex offender residing in Putnam Valley, has been arrested for failure to appear or provide an updated photo for the state registry. He is scheduled to appear in Putnam Valley Town Court for further proceedings.
