Here are some stories making headlines across the Hudson Valley.
A 70-year-old Ulster County BOCES teacher was arrested and charged with official misconduct for allegedly having an inappropriate relationship with a 17-year-old student. Authorities say Ronnie Greene, of Ellenville, provided a student with a cellphone so he could communicate with the youth privately.  Greene allegedly engaged in inappropriate conversations of a sexual nature with the student, the Ulster County Sheriff's Office said.  Greene surrendered to detectives on Thursday, was arraigned and released on his own recognizance pending a future court appearance.
A 49-year-old man from Queens was arrested Saturday morning in connection to a cooking oil theft in Monsey. Ramapo police say they followed a vehicle to a business, where they saw the suspect begin emptying an oil container. The suspect was arrested and released pending a future court appearance. Authorities say several restaurants and businesses in Ramapo have recently reported thefts of used cooking oil.
