The kitten was discovered on the sidewalk at the intersection of Locust Hill Avenue and Overlook Terrace. It was later dropped off at Yonkers Animal Hospital.

Two individuals who found the kitten and brought it to the hospital were assessed by Health Department staff and cleared of potential exposure.

Rabies is a potentially fatal disease, and anyone who had direct contact with the kitten is urged to call the Health Department at 914-813-5000 to assess their potential exposure and need for treatment.
