Snow continued to accumulate rapidly across parts of Connecticut early this morning, with the highest totals reported in western and central portions of the state as of 5 a.m.

Torrington reported the highest snowfall so far at 16.5 inches, while Bridgeport measured 15.1 inches, highlighting how intense bands of snow pushed well into southwestern Connecticut. Easton wasn’t far behind with 14.5 inches, and Norwalk picked up 13.5 inches during the overnight hours.

Farther south along the coast, totals were lower but still significant. Stamford reported 10 inches, enough to create hazardous travel and slow the Monday morning commute.

Snowfall rates slowed overnight, but blowing snow and reduced visibility continued to add to impacts. While snowfall intensity is expected to gradually decrease, additional light accumulations are still possible before the system fully departs.

Residents are urged to use caution on untreated roads and allow extra time for travel as cleanup efforts continue across the state.
