Yonkers police launched an investigation into a homicide that happened Friday night.
Police say the suspect assaulted the male victim near Woodbine Street at around 6:30 p.m.
Yonkers police say they got a call that at least one person was injured.
Detectives say that person died from injuries at the hospital but did not go into details of the nature of his injuries.
Detective Sgt. Frank Didomizio said they were reviewing surveillance video and talking to eyewitnesses.
A description of the suspect was not immediately clear as of Friday night.
Some roads were closed as of Friday night as police continued their investigation. Woodbine Street was closed between Blackford Avenue and Glen Road, Blackford Avenue was closed between Sterling and Hyatt avenues, and Glen Road was closed between Sterling and Hyatt avenues.
