Hostos Community College selected as finalist for Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence

Hostos Community College has been selected as one of the 10 finalists in the 2015 Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence.
The school, located at 500 Grand Concourse, is competing for $1 million along with nine other schools from across the country.
Aspen focuses in four areas: Student learning, certificate and degree completion, high rates of employment and earnings for graduates, and high levels of access and success for minority and low-income students.
Recently, Rep José Serrano announced Hostos Community College was awarded over $500,000 in federal grants to help expand educational opportunities for Hispanic college students.
A winner will be announced in March 2015.
