If you're looking for a place to celebrate the new year, there are many options close to home. 
There's the 17th annual White Plains New Year's Eve Family Spectacular. It's 10:30 p.m. - 12:30 a.m. at Main and Court streets. 
New Rochelle hosts a New Year's Eve Kick-Off Party 8 p.m. - 1 a.m. at Anderson Plaza. 
There are also many countdown to "noon-year" parties for the whole family. 
Kids can make a craft centered around New Year's goals Dec. 29 4:30-5:30 p.m. in Mt. Kisco.  
The Rye Free Reading Room is hosting a countdown 11:30 a.m. -12:15 p.m. with crafts and snacks.  
Poughkeepsie's Mid-Hudson Museum has music and activities 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. on Dec. 31. 
Join in a Noon Year's Eve Pajama Party in Dobbs Ferry from 11:15 a.m. -12:12 p.m.
