A national health study conducted in all 50 states found that Putnam, Westchester and Rockland counties were among the healthiest in the state of New York.
Putnam was ranked number one in overall quality of health, which includes the average lifespan in the area. Westchester and Rockland were in the top 10 for that same category.
Westchester was ranked number one in health behaviors, with Putnam and Rockland also in the top 10. That category analyzes the frequency of smoking and exercise, along with dietary trends.
