Organizations across the Hudson Valley are celebrating Italian History Month, including the San Silverio Shrine Organization in Dutchess County.

The members of this organization are descendants of families who immigrated from Ponza, Italy, to the United States.

They built an 82-acre shrine in Dover Plains as a means of preserving their traditions and Italian heritage.

The group recently gathered for their annual dinner/dance, during which they honored News 12's own Lisa LaRocca as their Person of the Year.
