Leaders from across the tri-state and in the Hudson Valley are coming together to find solutions in the fight against gun violence.
Westchester County Executive George Latimer joined seven mayors from around the state, including Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano and Mount Vernon's Mayor Shawyn Patterson-Howard for an in-depth discussion on the issue.
National Gun Violence Awareness Month kicks off Wednesday.
The New York mayors who met Tuesday voiced a resounding need for common sense gun laws to be passed at the federal level.
Buildings across the state will be lit in orange from June 3-5 in honor of gun violence victims.
