Dozens of National Guard troops who were stationed in Afghanistan for almost a year have returned to the Hudson Valley just in time to ring in the New Year.
The soldiers arrived Wednesday at Stewart Airport and were greeted by a throng of family members eager to see them again.
For Bryan Foley, of LaGrangeville, seeing how much his children had grown was the biggest surprise.
"All three of them are actually bigger," he says. "They're out of their booster seats, so that's a big change."
