Today is a big day for people in the Hudson Valley who are planning a wedding, or had their wedding canceled because of the pandemic.
Starting today, catering halls can operate at 50% capacity, and maximum guest capacity has increased to 150. There are still some restrictions in place:
All guests must be tested prior to the event - showing proof of a negative COVID-19 test or a vaccination card.
Guests must provide contact information - for potential contract tracing.
Masks and social distancing are required, and there must be designated "dancing zones" to avoid the spread of the virus.
Despite all these rules, couples who spoke with News 12 are just grateful for the chance to finally celebrate. “I never thought it was going to happen. We are going to dance! It's like a scene from Footloose, finally we can dance.  We can have a good time,” says Jenn Ryan and Chris Levi, of Melville. As a reminder, it is important to check with your venue for specific safety precautions.
