Ossining officials are asking the community to remain calm after Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents were seen in the village on Thursday.
Mayor Rika Levin has confirmed that ICE agents were present in two separate areas of the village on Thursday. Federal agents were seen on both Route 9 and Spring Street.
ICE agents were spotted in the village detaining two individuals from a vehicle on Route 9, according to Levin.
Levin confirmed that police were notified after the initial incident and are now actively monitoring the situation.
She says both Ossining schools and Neighbors Link have been notified.
The mayor confirmed that it is unknown as to who or what these federal agents were investigating.
