Hundreds of protesters gathered Saturday in Nanuet for an anti-ICE demonstration following the shooting death of Renee Good in Minneapolis.

Demonstrators at the intersection of North Middletown Road and Route 59 in voiced support for immigrant rights and called for an end to what they describe as cruelty in enforcement practices.

An ICE spokesperson sent News 12 a statement saying, “ICE encourages Americans to exercise their constitutional rights of free speech and assembly...but the vilification of brave men and women in ICE law enforcement must stop."

Rockland Indivisible, the group behind the event, plans to continue hosting rallies every Saturday from noon to 1 p.m.

The wife of Renee Good, the woman shot and killed in her car by a federal immigration, says the couple had stopped to support their neighbors on the day of the shooting and described the mother of three as leaving a legacy of kindness. Trump administration officials have painted Renee Good as a domestic terrorist who tried to run over an officer with her vehicle. State and local officials in Minneapolis, as well as protesters, have rejected that characterization.
