The inaugural Hope 'n Soles Walk in Eisenhower Park brought hundreds of people together for a life-saving cause.
The walk was hosted by the non-profit Donate Life New York State, which is committed to saving and enhancing lives through organ and tissue donation and transplantation. The walk today, sponsored by Northwell Health, was to help raise awareness about organ, eye and tissue donation.
Walkers chose between one- and two-mile routes through the park.
Organizers say every step is a chance to celebrate the gift of life and to encourage more people to learn about donation.
